The Flemish Council of Universities and University Colleges (VLUHR) is the joint consultation and coordination body of Flemish universities, university colleges and associations.
Objectives
- Strengthen the quality of Flemish higher education.
- Support a coherent and reliable quality assurance system for universities and university colleges.
- Enhance the international positioning of Flemish higher education.
- Coordinate and support development cooperation within higher education.
- Develop a shared vision on quality assurance, internationalisation and global responsibility.
Operations
- Coordinates quality assurance, including programme reviews and domain-specific learning outcome frameworks.
- Supports institutions in accreditation and evaluation processes.
- Responsible for the international promotion of Flemish higher education.
- Facilitates consultation and coordination on development cooperation, including joint positions and representation towards governments and international partners.
- Represents universities and university colleges as a single, clear point of contact in dialogue with government authorities and international networks.
