Training

As a student representative, you get many opportunities, but also many challenges. That is why Stura organises various training days throughout the academic year, tailored to both novice and experienced representatives.

During these sessions, you gain new knowledge, exchange experiences with other student representatives and develop skills that you can immediately apply within your faculty, group or campus.

Our training sessions take place during:

  • Sturep Welcome (September)
  • Training Congress (first semester)
  • Sturep Congress (second semester)

Getting to Know

Take your first steps as a student representative and get to know the operations, regulations, and support that will help you along the way.

Stura 101

In this session, you will discover what Stura does, how we represent students, who is responsible for what, and how you can collaborate with Stura.

Navigating the OER

The Education and Examination Regulations (OER) is full of information that every student representative should know. In this session, you will receive a clear explanation of the main provisions, practical examples, and ample opportunity to ask questions. This session is conducted in collaboration with Diest Education KU Leuven.

Skills

Develop practical skills to communicate more effectively, collaborate and build an engaged student operation.

Communication with your constituency

How do you ensure that students know your faculty student association or FO? And how do you efficiently gather their opinions? In this workshop, you will learn how to communicate visibly, involve students in decisions and use the right channels to provide feedback to your constituency.

Motivating volunteers

A strong student operation starts with motivated volunteers. Discover how to stimulate engagement, recognise talents and build a warm, supported operation within your faculty student association, campus council or group.

Strategy & organisation

Think ahead and strengthen the future of your operation with attention to vision, networking and sustainable follow-up.

Vision development and networking

Strong student representation requires more than just good ideas. Learn how to develop a shared vision, create support and build valuable contacts that strengthen your operation.

Recruitment of new representatives

Sustainable representation starts with good follow-up. In this training, you will learn how to engage new students in student representation throughout the year and work on a concrete recruitment and follow-up plan for your organisation.
