StAL
The Student Council of the KU Leuven Association (StAL) is the overarching student representative body for all institutions within the KU Leuven Association, representing students from KU Leuven, Odisee, Thomas More, UC Leuven-Limburg, VIVES and LUCA School of Arts.
Objectives
- Represent all students within the KU Leuven Association at association level.
- Strengthen student participation in association-wide themes such as quality assurance, mobility, accessibility and study feasibility.
- Advise the Association Board on student policy and developments in education.
- Promote cooperation and exchange between the student councils of the different institutions.
Operations
General Assembly
The highest decision-making body, composed of student representatives from all partner institutions.
Executive Board
Consists of a chair, vice-chair, secretary and coordinator of rapporteurs. It oversees daily operations and represents StAL externally. The chair rotates annually between partner institutions. The vice-chair is always the chair of Stura. They both automatically attend the Board Committee and the Governing Body of the KU Leuven Association.
Bureau
The policy-oriented think tank, with one vote per student council. It formulates positions and advice on behalf of all association students and follows up on mandates and rapporteurs in external consultation bodies.
Working groups
Advise the Bureau by exploring specific topics and preparing positions in depth.
